Ipswich: Firefighters have extinguished a blaze in a kitchen in Shirley Close

THE FIRE service was called to reports of a house fire in Shirley Close, Ipswich, with the possibility of people still inside.

The call came in at 12.20pm and three appliances from Princes Street in the town attended. Crews were on scene at 12.26pm to find a fire in the kitchen which was extinguished using two firefighters in breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one covering jet.

All persons were found to be out of the property and safe.

All crews were back at base by 12.59pm.
