A FORMER high school teacher is due to stand trial today, charged with a string of sex offences.
Stephen Benson, of Pearsons Way, Copdock, pleaded not guilty to the offences – which involve girls under 18 over a 21-year period – when he appeared before Ipswich Crown Court last year.
He was suspended from his post at Copleston High School, Ipswich, as the allegations came to light.
Benson will appear before Judge David Goodin in court four at Ipswich Crown Court in Russell Road.
The charges relate to incidents involving alleged victims who were aged under 18 at the time of the alleged offences, which spanned a period from 1989 to 2010.
