The parents of Sarah Shields today described their daughter as lovely, caring and thoughtful following an inquest into her death.
Sarah’s body was discovered in the sea off the southern coast of Gran Canaria in July 2010, just days after her boyfriend Christopher Chittock of Alnesbourn Crescent in Ravenswood, returned from their holiday.
Chittock was jailed for 24 years in February after he was found guilty of the computer inputter’s death.
Greater Suffolk coroner, Dr Peter Dean, recorded a verdict of unlawful killing during an inquest at IP-City Centre today.
Speaking after the inquest, Sarah’s mum, Angela, said: “She was just lovely. She always dressed nicely, she loved animals, she was a lovely, girl and very thoughtful. She wouldn’t hurt a fly.
“We are going to miss her – we miss her now.”
