The pupils at Ipswich High School were treated to a very special visit on World Book Day.
Michelle Harrison, the award-winning author of The Thirteen Treasures series, stopped by to give an interactive talk to the students, alongside their friends from Holbrook Academy.
The presentation ended in a Q&A and book signing, where pupils learned how Ms Harrison plans a novel and creates characters for her stories.
Wendy Offord, learning resources centre manager at Ipswich High commented: “We have had a truly inspirational morning with Michelle Harrison as part of our World Book Day celebrations.”
A Year 10 pupil commented: “I found Michelle’s talk very inspirational as she had not always wanted to be a writer, but through hard work, determination and many rejections, she made it. I really enjoyed her talk and liked the fact that she writes for different ages and covers some different genres; it is interesting to see a writer who is adaptable and clearly gets on well with her publisher. I left her talk with a desire to read her books.”
