A CLEANER at Ipswich Hospital downloaded indecent images of children on his computer and filmed children on his mobile phone from his bedroom window, a court has heard.

David Fletcher came to the attention of the police after he posted pictures of naked children in the bath on a video sharing webiste, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Although the images were not indecent police went to Fletcher’s home in Wimborne Avenue, Ipswich, in November last year and seized his computer equipment, Christopher Morgan, prosecuting, said.

When it was examined an expert found more than 200 indecent images of girls aged between five and 14.

Of the images, on a scale of one to five with level five being the most serious, 216 were at level one, ten were at level three and seven were at level four.

Mr Morgan said officers also found evidence on Fletcher’s mobile phone that he had been videoing children from his bedroom window.

He said although the footage was not indecent it was of some concern in view of the material found on Fletcher’s computer.

Fletcher, 25, admitted making and possessing indecent images of children and was sentenced to a two-year community order and ordered to attend 30 sessions designed to address his offending behaviour.

Joanne Eley, for Fletcher, said he had no previous convictions and had autism and learning difficulties.

“He finds it difficult to communicate, “ Miss Eley said.
