The formal opening of an inquest into the death of a man whose body was found beneath the Orwell Bridge was held on Wednesday.
Aaron Coote, a 24-year-old shop worker from Ipswich, was said to have died from “massive trauma” after he was seen jumping from the bridge on April 1.
Suffolk coroner Peter Dean said the death had been confirmed at Ipswich Hospital and the body identified by Mr Coote’s brother Ian after enquiries were made to trace the family.
Ian Coote recently paid tributes to his “amazing” brother and his “pure heart” .
Dr Dean adjourned the inquest for July 16 and expressed his sympathies to the family.
“Our thoughts are very much with Mr Coote’s family at this time,” he said.
