Suffolk police were initially treating Mr Pooley’s death as unexplained, but the ongoing investigation has led to the arrest of two people on Tuesday, October 2.

A third person, a 36-year-old woman, was arrested this morning, Wednesday, October 3, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Mr Pooley, 22, from Ipswich, was found at around 10.30am on Monday, August 13 in the River Gipping near London Road.

A post-mortem examination carried out on August 14 determined that the likely cause of death was immersion in water.

The three people arrested in connection with the investigation are currently being questioned by police at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
