A GANG of three men assaulted and robbed a man in Ipswich at the weekend, prompting a police investigation.
The incident happened in Gaye Street on Saturday between 1am and 1.30am.
A 31-year-old man was struck to the back of the head by an unknown object, causing him to fall to the floor.
The victim was then assaulted by three men, who stole his mobile phone from his pocket.
The victim sustained reddening to his eye socket and a small cut to the back of his head.
The first offender is described as a white man, approximately 20 to 22-years-old, had a tattoo on his neck and was wearing a black winter hat, jeans and a body warmer jacket.
The second offender is described as a man, of a ‘skinny’ build, approximately 20 to 22-years-old and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black jumper.
There is no description of the third offender.
