A MAN who was seriously injured when he was allegedly pushed from a bus is still in hospital nearly two months after the incident.

The man in his 60s was left fighting for his life in the weeks after the alleged attack on December 13, as he got off the number 10 bus in Defoe Road.

The injured man, who lives in the Whitton area, is understood to have been hurt when he was pushed from the bus after it stopped and hit his head as he fell on to the pavement.

He was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment, but was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, which specialises in head injury trauma.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said the man remains at Addenbrooke’s where he is said to be in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old man is currently on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to return to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on Friday.
