A MAN was assaulted by two would-be robbers in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened in Nacton Road, Ipswich, near the roundabout at about 12.40am.
The 21-year-old victim was walking in the street when a dark coloured Vauxhall Corsa containing a female passenger stopped nearby in the road.
Two men got out of the Corsa and one tried to grab the victim’s mobile phone from his hand while the other assaulted him. The victim ran away.
The victim suffered swelling to the face and a cut lip but nothing was stolen.
The first suspect is described as white, about 20-years-old, of a medium build, about 6 foot tall, with short spiked blond hair and was wearing a black body warmer over a t-shirt.
The second suspect was white, about 20-years-old, of a slim build, about 5ft 5ins, with short dark hair and was wearing a grey hooded top.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call Ipswich Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
