AN Ipswich man has today been charged with causing the death of a Portuguese woman in a horror crash on the A12.
The 51-year-old will appear before magistrates next month in relation to the smash on the northbound carriageway near Dedham on September 26 last year.
Mafalda Sofia Do Nascimento Pio, 34, of Bramford Lane, Ipswich, died in the crash which saw a BMW fly off the road and plough into the pillars of a bridge.
A spokesman for Essex Police said the man was also charged with making a false statement to obtain insurance, possessing an identity document with intent to deceive and causing death by driving a vehicle whilst unlicensed and uninsured.
He will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on June 30.
