A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital this morning after being the victim of a serious assault in Ipswich town centre.
The attack happened in the early hours of this morning in Old Foundry Road, at 3.25.
He was taken to the Ipswich Hospital, in Heath Road, with serious head injuries and has now been conveyed to Addenbroke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where his condition is described as “critical”.
A 36-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently being questioned by detectives at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
Inquiries are continuing into the incident and anyone with information can call police on 101 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
