A MAN will appear in court today in connection with a burglary in Ipswich.
A 72-year-old woman called the police after she returned to her home in Norwich Road on Thursday, May 19, to find a man inside her property.
The man assaulted the pensioner and ran off, sparking a full-scale search of the area including using the police helicopter.
Joshua Smith was arrested a few minutes later near Valley Road and charged with one count of committing burglary with violence and one count of cultivating cannabis.
The 18-year-old unemployed man is still in police custody and will appear before magistrates tomorrow.
