A MAN in his 30s was taken to hospital last night after sustaining two cuts to his face in an attempted robbery.
The incident took place on Maidenhall Approach, Ipswich close to the junction of Belstead Road at around 10.50pm on Monday.
A police spokesman said: “A 36-year-old man was walking in the street when he was approached from behind by a man who demanded money. The offender assaulted the victim with an unknown object and ran off.
“The victim sustained two scratches to the face as a result of the incident and nothing was stolen.
“There is no further description of the offender.”
