A MAN suffered head injuries in an assault in Christchurch Park, Ipswich, late on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called after the man was found unconscious in the park. The police helicopter was sent to join the search because it was thought that the attacker was still in the area.
The victim regained consciousness and was taken to hospital by ambulance – a police spokeswoman said his injuries were not thought to be serious.
No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the incident, but police have a description of the person they are looking for and inquiries are continuing.
