The new Mansion on the Moon music festival at Trinity Park in Ipswich, which was due to be headlined by The Libertines, has been cancelled.

Acts like Tom Grennan and Bessie Turner were also due to play the gig on September 8.

But today, organisers cancelled the event citing “circumstances they could not overcome”. Ticket refunds will be given, they said.

It is with deep regret we must announce the cancellation of Mansion on the Moon Festival.

Despite our best efforts to organise one of the region’s most significant events, circumstances beyond our control have led us to take the difficult decision to cancel the event that was due to take place at Trinity Park, Ipswich this September 8.

Our ticket holders are a priority and they will be receiving a refund.

Over many months, our team has worked tirelessly planning to deliver an event of this calibre, but we faced circumstances that ultimately, we just could not overcome. We want to thank all our partners who have been fantastic, as has the overwhelming public support from across the UK.

We sincerely regret that this has occurred, if we could have it any other way, we would. We know in our hearts that this year’s festival would have been an enormous success, and still genuinely believe there is an appetite for an inspirational, affordable and accessible festival in Ipswich.
