AN Ipswich man is the subject of a rape investigation today after a woman alleged she had been sexually assaulted in the town.
Detectives were questioning the 22-year-old suspect after he was arrested during the course of yesterday.
Police were contacted around 6am yesterday regarding an incident, which is said to have happened in one of the town centre's most popular night spots.
Officers were told an 18-year-old woman from the Ipswich area had been raped in the New York Exchange bar in Falcon Street.
The suspect, who is from Ipswich, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape and taken to the town's police station for questioning.
