THERE’S no mistaking the identity of the huge new superstore nearing completion on the new Futura Park development now!

The signs for the new Waitrose and John Lewis stores were delivered this week and contractors completing the fitting out of the twin store carefully prepared them to be fitted.

The stores are due to open on November 8 – just as the Christmas shopping season gets into full swing and are they are expected to attract shoppers from a wide area to the town.

A total of 375 jobs are being created at the stores – all those working will be partners in the business and share in any profits.

The twin store is just the first new retailer on the former Crane site – the borough is due to consider applications to develop other parts of the site over the next few weeks and if approved they could be finished next summer.
