Six fire crews were called to one of Ipswich’s most iconic buildings after smoke was scene coming from the roof of the flats.

Firefighters were called to the Mill in College Street shortly before 4.10pm, however after arriving at the scene it was found to be a false alarm.

A spokesman for the fire service said that the alarm had been caused by steam coming from a vent on the roof. They left the scene at 4.30pm.
