FIREFIGHTERS were today alerted to reports of smoke billowing from an old ice cream factory in Ipswich.
The brigade were alerted at about 8.15am to the Old Peters Ice Cream site in Grimwade Street, opposite Suffolk New College.
Two crews from Princes Street fire station discovered a small fire in an old corrugated, open sided storage area, a spokesman for the brigade said.
The fire was quickly tackled and the incident was under control by 8.31am.
