Ipswich: Top marks for pupil referral after glowing Ofsted report
PARKSIDE Pupil Referral unit in Ipswich has received its third ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.
The unit – which teaches children who have been unable to access mainstream education, predominantly for medical and mental health issues – was inspected on November 15 and 16.
The inspector’s report praised every aspect of the school and highlighted the rapid progress of the students’ behaviour and their studies.
The inspector also praised the good relationships between students and staff.
The school gained a rating of ‘good’ with outstanding features last year, and now has an outstanding rating.

Headteacher Stuart Bailey said: “I am delighted that Ofsted has recognised all the fantastic work we are doing.
“The inspectors highlighted the dedication of the entire teaching staff and everyone involved with the school. I see this in action day in day out and it makes me so proud. It is a great privilege to lead such a committed and enthusiastic team of people.

In order to improve, the inspector’s report said the school needs to ensure that key partner organisations are fully involved in target setting in order to raise achievement.
