BUSINESS owners are set to unite in launching a new neighbourhood watch initiative.
Traders in Fore Street, Orwell Place, Eagle Street and Upper Orwell Street have re-launched a scheme which was once known as The Wash Watch when it was first in place.
Councillor Jane Chambers is currently heading up the group, which is due to meet on Monday evening at 5pm at Ladies That Lunch in Fore Street.
“I think it is important for the area and the businesses to be able to meet to discuss their concerns,” she said.
“A range of issues will be addressed, including crime in general, anti-social behaviour and street drinking in the area.”
She said the traders would work together on improving the area.
The new scheme has been created after months of roadworks blighted the area and left businesses fighting for survival.
Ms Chambers said the forum was strictly for business owners only.
