The group of travellers who moved on to Bramford Lane recreation ground last week left the illegal site during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Their stay in the town was marred by tragedy when a 20-month-old toddler died following a collision with a vehicle on the site.
A 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed to report back to Suffolk police in October.
Officials from the borough council, which owns the recreation ground, were on the site today to clear up after the travellers left at about 2am.
