POLICE have charged two men after a female security guard was targeted in an Ipswich street on Wednesday.

Timay Denton, a 24-year-old man from Pauline Street, Ipswich has been charged with robbery, possession of a class B drug with intent to supply, possession of ammunition for a firearm and possession of a firearm.

Dean Constantinou, a 25-year-old man of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery.

The pair were arrested and detained on suspicion of robbery following the incident in Nacton Road.

A member of a security company called the force, reporting having a money box stolen. Suffolk police were alerted at around 10.55am.

Both are now due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

It is understood the alleged robbery took place close to The Thrasher pub.
