Bitterly cold weather has forced the cancellation of this weekend's football fixtures on council-owned pitches
HUNDREDS of footballers will have to go without their weekly fix after matches due to take place on Ipswich Borough Council-owned pitches this weekend were postponed.
A spokesman for apologised for any inconveniance.
“All football matches on all Ipswich Borough Council parks and sports centres for this weekend have been cancelled due to the weather we have experienced this week and the prediction of more heavy snow tomorrow and Saturday.
“We have been unable to mark the pitches out due to the ground conditions.
“IBC apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
