FIREFIGHTERS were scrambled to a fire at a town centre shop this afternoon.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the fire at Calendar Club in Westgate Street at just before 1.25pm.
Two appliances from Princes Street were mobilised and found that a window display area was alight.
A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “Crews isolated the electrics and used an extinguisher and jet to put out the flames.
“Light smoke was reported through the shop.”
The fire was extinguished by 2.10pm.
