The Met Office have now issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms across the east of England.

The warning suggests that most places will remain dry but that there is the potential for slow-moving thundery downpours in places.

They warn that there could be “a small chance that homes and business could be flooded quickly with damage to some buildings from floodwater.

“Where flooding of lightning strikes occur there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.”

In the mean time forecasters are only predicting a small amount of rain over Suffolk and North Essex in the next few days with forecasters Weatherquest believing that there is only a small chance of an isolated shower in our region today but it is unclear as to where exactly this would be.
