A driver was taken to hospital after his car ended up upside-down in a field near Ixworth last night.

The incident took place around 10.20pm near the village of Norton on the A1088 between Ixworth and Stowlangtoft.

A male driver in his teens was the only occupant the Renault Clio, which had rolled into a roadside field.

He was cared for by a volunteer doctor from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service charity before being taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Police report the driver’s injuries are not thought to be serious and that he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
