Man charged with drug offences and possession of taser in town

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with drug offences as well as the possession of a taser following his arrest in Beccles.
Jai Souter, 26, of Rigbourne Hill was wanted on recall to prison after allegedly breaching the terms of his licence on May 14.
A week later, on Wednesday (May 22), Souter was found by police in the town after they stopped a white van in a car park behind Cucumber Lane.
He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre and charged with seven offences including the possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon as well as a taser.
He has also been charged with two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest and the use of a vehicle without third party insurance.

He is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates' Court on May 23.
Matthew Ransome, 37, from Beccles witnessed the early-morning arrest from his home.
Mr Ransome said: "I couldn't see much because the street lights were off, but I was woken up by shouting and screaming and someone was being arrested. Not a lot happens here, it had been really quiet. We moved here two years ago now.
"I have lived in different places around the town and this is the first time I have seen anything like this happen in Beccles," he said.
A spokesperson from Suffolk Police, said: "Police would like to thank the member of public who assisted officers at the time of arrest and are appealing for them to come forward."
