A man who went on a month long crime spree was jailed for six years.

Shaun Holland, 32, of Sackville Close, Cambridge, stole handbags, jewellery and cash from elderly people. On one occasion Holland told his victim, who was in her 80’s, that he needed to collect his football from her garden. He spent no more than five minutes there but managed to walk out with her handbag without her noticing.

A 40-year-old woman was jailed for eight years after she attacked two young women with a glass bottle.

Michaela Brunning, 40, of Glenway Close, Maldon, was arrested and charged with two counts of GBH after she seriously injured two women in their 20’s.

A man who was seen “acting erratically and waving a knife” was jailed for a year.

Jonathan Jedburgh, 22, of Marks Hall Lane, was arrested after witnesses reported he had been “pacing around” with the bladed weapon near to the Golden Fleece in Duke Street in Chelmsford. Jedburgh told officers he had no intention of hurting anyone, however his actions caused concern and frightened members of the public.

A kitchen porter was jailed for four months after being caught driving for the 80th time while disqualified.

Paul Heard, 54, of Trory Street, Norwich, drove a vehicle into a herd of deer in the early hours of April 1. Heard reported the collision to the police who arrived to discover he had been driving while disqualified and without insurance. Prosecutor Lucy Miller said Heard “did not think he was banned from driving” and that he had “organised insurance online” before making the journey.

A Chelmsford man was jailed for more than four years after a serious assault in a nightclub.

Ryan Revel, 24, of Perry Hill, was out at Evoke night club in Chelmsford in January when he got into a verbal argument with a man in the smoking area. This then led to Revel using a glass to punch the man in the face, causing serious injuries which later required surgery.
