Police are investigating a burglary in Haverhill where jewellery and handbags were stolen.

The break-in happened sometime between 11am and 4.50pm on Wednesday, October 18 at a home on the A143 Wrating Road, near Churchill Avenue.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said that an offenders or offenders smashed a glass window to the rear of the house to gain access to the home, and stole jewellery and a number of handbags from inside.

It is believed that the burglar left via the back door after they had carried out the break-in.

Police have been carrying out enquiries in the area, and urging anyone who witnessed anything unusual or has any information to contact police on 101.

Officers have issued home safety advice, and are urging people to make sure doors and windows are locked, valuable items hidden, and use lights on timers to ward people off.
