The jury in the trial of a man accused of punching a chef in the face causing his nose to “explode” during an alleged attack in an alleyway outside an Ipswich nightclub has been discharged.
Before Ipswich Crown Court was Rhys Wilson, 22, of Bond Street, Ipswich who has denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on 22-year-old Daniel Burton in June this year.
Wilson was due to give evidence yesterday, however the jury was discharged because the trial judge, Deputy Circuit Judge Peter Jacobs, was unable to continue sitting on the case.
A retrial is expected to take place in January.
