The jury in the trial of a former Suffolk teacher and a world renowned harpist accused of sexually assaulting a schoolboy boy more than 30 years ago is expected to continue its deliberations tomorrow.

Before Ipswich Crown Court are Richard Barton Wood, 68, of Church Street, Wymondham, Norfolk, who has denied seven offences of indecent assault and one of attempted indecent assault and Danielle Perrett, 59, of Bridge Street, Alpheton, who has played the harp for the Queen and several prime ministers.

She has denied six offences of indecent assault.

The allegations date back to the 1980’s.

During the month long trial it has been alleged that Perrett sexually assaulted the boy after undressing and getting into bed with him during a visit by him and Barton-Wood to her London flat.

Barton-Wood, a former teacher at Claydon High School, is alleged to have separately sexually assaulted the boy during the same visit.

The jury retired to consider its verdicts this morning (Tuesday) and was sent home at the end of the day with instructions to return to court tomorrow to continue its deliberations.
