A WOMAN appeared in court this morning accused of arson after a fire in a bungalow, while another man was arrested for arson at a different address.
Beverley Manning, 52, of Grantchester Place, Kesgrave, was arrested at 1.45am on New Year’s Eve following a fire in a bungalow in the same street between 12.50am and 1.30am.
She has now been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and was held in custody overnight until she could appear at Bury Magistrates’ Court today.
In a separate incident, a 46-year-old man from Lowestoft was arrested at 8.50am on New Year’s Eve following a fire started in a first floor flat in High Street, Lowestoft, at 3am the same day.
He has been released on police bail and will return to Lowestoft police station at 1pm on February 9 pending further inquiries.
