Pupils at Kesgrave High School are in the middle of a fundraising mission to help people in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
The group of Year 9 students are raising money to fill Aquaboxes, which contain vital items, including dried food, and also has a filter to purity water.
The pupils’ initiative has also been supported by The Rotary Club of Ipswich Wolsey and Hunnaball Funeral Directors.
Gavin Hetherington, from the high school, said: “The Year 9 pupils are a hugely charitable group, having raised large amounts of money for good causes in previous years as well as organising Christmas parcels for less fortunate children.
“The current crisis in the Philippines has affected two of our students and their families, giving the year group maximum motivation, not that they needed it, to fill the Aquaboxes as quickly as possible.”
