DANIEL King is hoping his winter switch to Birmingham can also aid his chances of international recognition this season.

Ipswich asset King wants to establish himself as a top performer in the Elite League and also force his way back into Rob Lyon’s Great Britain plans for the World Cup.

King said: “My priority obviously is to do a job for the team and help Birmingham become a success in the Elite League which is obviously a major challenge for us, but we are very much up for it.

“And I would like to race in the World Cup for Great Britain. I travelled to Denmark with the squad last season but knew realistically there was no way I was going to get into the team and I want that to be different this season.”
