Bomb disposal experts have been called to deal with a potentially explosive mortar, discovered by a member of the public at a country park.
Police have set up a 100 metre cordon around the site at Knettishall Country Park, near Thetford.
The shell has been described by police as measuring about eight by two inches with “red banding”.
It is believed the rusted mortar may have gone undiscovered for some time and police have called for assistance from a bomb disposal unit.
Officers were called to the park at 1.06pm and remain on scene.
