Knifepoint robbery at betting shop

Police are today hunting a masked raider who held up a Felixstowe bookies at knifepoint.

The terrifying raid happened at around 6.20pm yesterday evening, when a man, wearing a dark coloured woollen hat and a scarf covering his face, ran towards the counter at Ladbrokes, in Undercliff Road West, Felixstowe, and jumped over, demanding cash from staff.

The armed robber, described as of average height, slim build and also wearing a green jacket, took money from the safe and ran from the building towards Coronation Drive.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area at around the time and saw anything that may help enquiries, or anyone with information about the man involved, to call Suffolk Police on 01473 613500.
