Lakenheath: Cordon lifted outside RAF Lakenheath base after bomb scare

At 1.30pm, the bomb disposal unit declared the vehicle safe and the cordon was lifted.

A 1.5KM exclusion zone has been lifted at the entrance to RAF Lakenheath following a bomb alert.

The Army bomb disposal unit was sent to the base after a suspicious vehicle was stopped at the gate at 8.09am today.

He said that a vehicle had been stopped due to fears that it may have been carrying explosives.

At 1.30pm, the bomb disposal unit declared the vehicle safe and the cordon was lifted.
