A driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after the tragic loss of 22-year-old Lauren Danks in a car crash on the A11 at Red Lodge last year.
Nelson Curtis, 64, of Lakenheath High Street, has also been charged with failing to stop after a road traffic collision and failing to report a road traffic collision.
Miss Danks, from Soham in Cambridgeshire, was driving southbound along the A11 when the collision occurred.
Police were called just after midnight on November 11 to reports a vehicle had been found off the road.
Miss Danks was found inside the car but had died at the scene.
An investigation was launched and police soon discovered a Jaguar had been involved in the crash. They then traced and recovered the vehicle.
Curtis was arrested later that same day and taken into custody for questioning before he was bailed for almost six months until May 6.
Miss Danks’ inquest was opened and adjourned last year, which heard she had died after suffering “multiple injuries” in the collision. Her car, a Citroën, was spotted by a member of the public who rang the emergency services.
There was a flood of tributes after her death for the popular beauty therapist, who worked in the Aqua Sana team at Center Parcs Elveden Forest.
Stephanie Findlay, who taught Lauren on her BTEC National Diploma in beauty therapy at Cambridge Regional College, said she had been an “absolute pleasure to teach”.
She said: “She was an excellent therapist, always happy and smiling and had so much love for her family. My love and thoughts go out to her parents and brothers during this devastating time.”
Lauren, from Soham in Cambridgeshire, has been described on social media as a “lovely young lady” who “lit up the room”.
One message read: “A beautiful person inside and out with a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed.”
Another read: “Lauren was the sweetest person I’ve ever known and she has definitely left her mark on this world. She will be missed dearly.”
“Lauren was an absolute pleasure to work with, a real life princess,” read another.
Curtis has been bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 23.
