A SUFFOLK guesthouse has been named as the best in England.
The Old Rectory in the picturesque village of Lavenham received the accolade at an awards ceremony in London run by the AA.
The guesthouse on the edge of the village, which was restored by proprietor Susie Darvell-Wright, was officially crowned Guest Accommodation of the Year for England at the AA’s Bed and Breakfast Awards.
Giovanna Grossi, group area manager for AA Hotel Services, said she was delighted to name the Old Rectory as the winner, adding: “This beautifully restored Georgian property offers impressive and individually designed accommodation that provides guests with a lasting impression, and is fully deserving of its title.”
