A PUB in the heart of a Suffolk town has been unexpectedly closed.
The Engineers Arms, in Main Street, Leiston, will be shut until further notice due to “unforeseen circumstances”, according to Suffolk-based brewer and pub operator Adnams.
The Victorian pub, which is opposite the gates to the original Garrett Works engineering factory, is currently boarded up, with a sign notifying customers of the closure.
A spokeswoman for Southwold brewer Adnams, which operates the pub, said: “Unfortunately tenants left the Engineers Arms at short notice for personal reasons and we have temporarily closed the pub while we find the best solution.”
