Pupils enrolled in the school of rock for two days of musical workshops with industry professionals and band members.

Youngsters from Alde Valley School, in Leiston, got the chance to work on songwriting and performance with Chelmsford band The Hype Theory.

As well as learning and playing a song, the pupils found out about alternative music industry careers from Sam Robson, school relations manager at Ipswich-based company Industry Education in Music (IEM), which put together the workshops.

Head of music at the school, Dominic Nunn, who organised the experience, said: “The two day workshops provided by IEM and The Hype Theory have provided our students with an inspirational opportunity to work and perform with industry professionals.

“Students have been enthusiastic about all the activities on offer and enjoyed the chance to show off their creative flair.”
