Emergency services were called to a crash in Abbey Road, Leiston, this morning.

Crews were called at 6.40am after a car collided with a pole holding power lines.

It is thought the female driver suffered a medical emergency at the wheel, and although she is not believed to have life-changing or life-threatening injuries from the crash itself she is thought to be in a serious condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The road was closed between Carr Avenue and Lovers’ Lane until 9.55am.
