A Suffolk scooter club has spoken of its pride after hosting a “massively successful” rally attended by hundreds of enthusiasts to raise funds for local worthy causes.
Leiston-based Suffolk Smugglers presented the latest £300 donation from its annual ‘Run to the Rum’ rally to the town’s Guides, Brownies and Rainbows at their Guide Hut on Monday evening.
The weekend-long event, which took place at the LTAA in Victory Road, was attended by more than 300 enthusiasts, live bands and a reggae sound system.
Funds raised have also enabled Leiston Town’s under 15s youth football team to purchase a new kit.
Gail Richardson, spokesman for the Smugglers said: “We are very proud to be able to support other groups in our community.”
