HARWICH lifeboat was readied for launch after a pleasure boat broke down on the River Stour.
Thames Coastguard received a 999 call from the 18ft boat, with three people on board, at 10.23am yesterday.
A further call came in from the boat notifying rescuers that the engine had restarted and was making for the shore.
The lifeboat remained on standby until the boat was safely ashore.
