A12 junctions 24 Kelvedon North to 23 Kelvedon South, Essex: bridge repair

Work to maintain safety by repairing the Ewell Bridge continues.

The damaged pedestrian bridge over the A12 remains closed while repair work continues.

The southbound carriage way will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday, August 21.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B1024 through Kelvedon.

A12 Lowestoft, Lowestoft Road to Bridge Road four-way junction: traffic signal duct survey

Work to prove the validity of traffic signal ducting at the signalised junction ahead of improvement.

Three chambers are in the central carriageway hatching and will require local lane narrowing to enable access.

Work will be carried out under lane closures of the central lane and will start on Thursday, August 24, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, for two days.

A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire: major improvements

Early preparatory construction work on the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon scheme has been underway for a number of months, and construction of the new road has now started.

Highways England are currently carrying out a variety of tasks for which we need to close lanes or carriageway on the A1, A14 and some local roads, usually overnight between 8pm and 6am, unless otherwise stated.

A clearly signed diversion route will always be in place for closures. The work includes creating safe crossing points for plant on a number of local roads, installing access points to our construction compounds, taking core samples of the existing A1 and A14 carriageways to help us plan construction, clearing sites next to the live carriageway of vegetation, installing CCTV, average speed cameras and information boards

For this week, the planned full closures are:

Monday, August 21, to Tuesday, August 22:

A1 southbound between Alconbury and Buckden.

Wednesday, August 23, to Thursday, August 24:

A1 southbound between Alconbury and Brampton Hut.

Lane closures:

Monday, August 21, to Thursday, August 24:

A1 southbound between junction 15 and 14. Lane two, three and four closed.

Thursday, August 24:

A14 link road from Alconbury to A14 eastbound junction 24 Godmanchester.

Lane two closed.

A14 Orwell Bridge, Suffolk: principal inspection

Work to maintain safety by thoroughly inspecting all surfaces of the Orwell Bridge started on August 14 and continues until October 5.

The majority of this work will take place under the bridge, but this will effect on traffic flows over the bridge towards the end of the works as the bridge deck is inspected.

Dates are dependent on initial scheme progress so will be promoted in due course.

A120 Marks Tey to B1024 Coggeshall, Essex: resurfacing, drainage and lighting

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing, drainage and lighting maintenance continues this week.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday, August 21, and from Wednesday, August 23, for two nights.

In addition, both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday, August 22.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A12, A130, A131 and A120, and vice versa.

A120 Marks Farm, Braintree to B1024 Coggeshall, Essex: resurfacing, drainage and lighting

Temporary traffic lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday, August 21, for four nights.

A120 Pellens, Essex: Corner Survey and Investigation

Highways England is planning an improvement scheme along the A120 at the junctions with Harwich Road, Park Road and Pellens Corner designed to improve the safety for local residents and road users.

To prepare for construction, engineering ground investigation and ecological works have occurred and further investigative works are required.

Works are expected to last until the end of August and include: trenching, trial pits and will require the removal of trees to allow for suitable access to carry out the work.

Highways England are hoping to start construction in late September.

A1022 Foundation Street, Ipswich: Junction improvements and permanent closure of Foundation Street.

Work continues on Foundation street in Ipswich, it started on July 20 and is set to carry on until November 19.

The work is being carried out to improve the junction and due to the permanent closure of Foundation Street which is located between Star lane and College street.

Delays are likely.

M11 junctions 10 Duxford, Cambridgeshire to 8 A120 Essex: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week.

The M11 southbound will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday, August 21, for four nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A505, A10 and the A120 eastbound.
