VANDALS broke into a resident's car, tossed lit fireworks inside and then fled the scene.
Police are investigating the incident which left the seats of a green Ford Escort badly damaged in Trevethan Close, Bury St Edmunds.
It happened sometime between 8pm on Thursday night and 6.45am the next morning.
Officers believe it might be related to an incident at about 1.30am in the area in which fireworks were heard and three men were spotted fleeing on foot.
