A teenage care assistant has denied theft at a west Suffolk care home.

Melisa Castle, 19, of Bells Lane, Glemsford, has been accused of 12 separate counts of theft at Melford Court home in Long Melford between May and December last year.

The sums of cash varied from �10 to �100 and totalled �481.

Castle denied the charges at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court today.

She was released on unconditional bail to appear back before Bury magistrates on Tuesday, April 19 when her case will be sent to Ipswich Crown Court for trial.
