FIREFIGHTERS battled the flames to tackle a car fire.
Crews were called to Borley Road in Long Melford at 5.20am where a car was found to be well alight in a field.
Wearing two sets of breathing apparatus and using a hose reel jet, they brought the incident under control by 6.15am.
They remained at the scene to dampen down.
